The Shrine and Guild of St Jude.

St Jude Thaddeus.

Aylesford Priory, near Maidstone, has a chapel dedicated to St Jude Thaddeus, and the Carmelites have also established the national shrine of St Jude, kinsman and one of the twelve apostles of Our Lord, at Faversham (about half an hour from Aylesford by car, and just down the road from Thanet.) St Jude was the brother of the apostle James; they were sons of Cleophas; St Joseph's brother. St Jude is the patron saint of hopeless cases and those in despair, he is invoked to help the living who are in difficult circumstances and, we pray, he can be invoked to help the dead who are in difficult circumstances as well.
St Jude has a strong following in this country, as shown in the annual celebration of his feast day (feast 28th October) celebrated at the shrine in Faversham.

The link below shows events for St Jude's feast day in 2015, a similar event will be held at the shrine in 2016.
